im curious about this rm1 offer IPAD (11th gen) from celcom digi. many outlets inform no stock, need to order which they'll call u back if theres new stock. is this means there will be no future stock anymore so the celcom seller just use standard reply to customer or its true, theyre will be stock if order? Hi all

Checking to see if any Time subscribers here got receive this kind of promotion before. Is it real and is it worth taking

Background is that I have an Internet package with time with 600 mbps speed. It was originally on comtract, but expired earlier this year. I suspect this is to get me to sign on again which Idm since time is ok so far.

So what do lowyat ppl think?

Hi Sifus all,

I moved to Singapore for quite sometimes.

Initially I was using old iphone, with Maxis Sim-Card and Giga E-Sim, and everything is okay.

Thereafter I bought iphone 17PM, change to Maxis E-Sim and Singtel-SimCard, and from thereon, I am unable to receive sms from Malaysia in Singapore.

Tried calling Maxis few times, and they say internally they do not block SMS.

Also checked with Singtel, and also removed the blocking SMS function from unknown numbers, I am still facing the same issue, unable to receive Malaysia SMS while in Singapore.

Anyone know what's happening?

Telco Contract Phones, Administrator-Level "Telecoms Client"

Hi everyone,

I subscribed to an "Orange" telco plan that came with two complimentary Redmi phones. During the registration process, the sales representative only asked me to sign to acknowledge receipt of the phones. Apart from the commonly known 36-month contract period, I don't recall any explanation about other important terms or the software installed on the devices.

When I got home and started setting up one of the phones, I discovered a pre-installed administrator-level application called "Telecoms Client". The application cannot be disabled or uninstalled. I contacted the telco's customer service and was informed that the application is used to lock the phone if monthly payments are not made or to remotely wipe the device if it is reported as lost or stolen.

As I intended to use the phone for Malaysian banking applications, I contacted several banks to ask whether it is advisable to use banking apps on a device with a pre-installed administrator-level application. The responses I received were generally similar: they could not guarantee the security or proper functionality of their banking applications on such a device and would not accept responsibility should any security-related issues arise.

I'm therefore curious to know whether anyone else has encountered a similar situation. Do other telcos, such as the "Green", "Blue", or "Yellow" providers, also pre-install administrator-level applications on phones offered under contract plans, or is this practice unique to the "Orange" telco?

For the forum experts and experienced members, is there any legitimate method to remove or disable this pre-installed administrator-level application without compromising the device? Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.

May i know, which banks in Malaysia do not require a mobile app to approve online transactions, and if possible, any other online payment methods i can use if all banks require a mobile app.

I am sure there is a way to make online payments without mobile apps even securely.

CelcomDigi - Daily Roaming Pass, Auto-activated without consent

Was on "Roam Like Home" from Digi which expired on 11th May 2026. This provides free 5GB of internet per month which is useful when travelling overseas. No notification whatsoever when expired.

Switched on roaming yesterday and messages came in as follows:-

Dear customer, your consumption exceeds 100% of your redirection quota limit of RM 39.00.

RM0 CelcomDigi: Daily Roaming Pass (RM39) auto-activated | Enjoy 1GB High-speed Internet | Valid until 16/05/2026 05:08PM (MYT) | For help, dial *125# (FREE).

I never give consent to this charge ... it never even ask if I want to continue, just whack RM39 ... and declared auto-activated.

Contacted the online support and asked to submit a dispute report when billed next month.

I am sorry but this is a complete waste of customer time when it's akin to daylight robbery by charging a client without his/her consent ... and I still need to waste my time to dispute the charge.

Their sim seems very hard to get despite the many dealers listed on their website, and they don't seem to have option for MNP also - at least not yet.

Their RM17 monthly plan seems good to me - 20GB with unlimited calls, cheaper than TT/HT.

first thing first. this is will be mainly on the topic of CA on telco side. in addition to that. would also explore the consumer vs commercial mobile plan for CA.

so far I found this topic is lacking in discussion.

for those people who are speed conscious. CA is also the valid reason for serious consideration without incurring the high cost of additional modem router or switching to fiber.

last but not least. on modem router side. what are the modem chipset that support it? it has been introduced many years ago to the market. will update this segment at later date.

Having an LTE PCC and an NR PCC is technically called Dual Connectivity (EN-DC), not standard Carrier Aggregation.

Having an LTE PCC and an NR SCC is still Dual Connectivity, but with 5G Carrier Aggregation stacked on top of it.

PCC = Primary Component Carrier.

4G Anchor + 5G, strictly speaking is not CA, but EN-DC (E-UTRA-NR Dual Connectivity)

CA means 4G band + 4G band or 5G + 5G band (aka NR SA)

Communications regulator says all 14 mobile towers affected by a vandalism and theft incident in Bukit Pilah have been fully restored after disruptions to 2G and 4G services - April 14, 2026

THE Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has confirmed that all 14 telecommunications towers affected by a vandalism and theft incident in Bukit Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, have been restored and are now fully operational following disruptions that affected mobile connectivity in Kuala Pilah.

The regulator said it received a report on Saturday, 11 April from CelcomDigi Berhad regarding service interruptions involving 2G and 4G networks in the area.

Initial investigations found that the disruption stemmed from vandalism and theft targeting a CelcomDigi-owned communications tower at Bukit Pilah.

The incident caused wider network instability, affecting 13 additional communication towers and disrupting services for approximately 1,668 users across multiple telecommunications providers in the Kuala Pilah area of Negeri Sembilan

Following the report, MCMC conducted a site inspection together with CelcomDigi engineers and confirmed that critical communications equipment, including Radio Transport System (RTS) and Baseband Unit (BBU) components, had been stolen.

The removal of the equipment triggered cascading service disruptions across nearby infrastructure.

Restoration works were subsequently carried out by CelcomDigi, with the affected towers reactivated in phases.

All 14 towers have since been fully restored and are now providing normal service to users.

The commission has urged members of the public to report any suspicious activity around telecommunications infrastructure to the Royal Malaysia Police Royal Malaysia Police or the relevant authorities, stressing the importance of community vigilance in protecting critical national infrastructure.

MCMC reiterated that it will not tolerate acts of vandalism or interference with telecommunications facilities.

It warned that such offences fall under Section 235 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, which carries a maximum penalty of a fine of up to RM500,000, imprisonment for up to five years, or both upon conviction. - April 14, 2026

First time I really checked on the festival passes of HotlinkMU, look like the passes got speed limit applied even though not mentioned.
Tonight just buy the HotlinkMU passes for RAYA 500 --> 15GB+500GB @RM3 valid for 3days. I use it in Tenda modem.
About 15-20M speed limit, tested by fast.com

So, be careful if you use modem and shared by many devices, 20M really not good and not enough speed for more than 2 devices used simultaneously right? 🤔

SingTel prepaid data roaming in Malaysia, Daily FUP / Throttling?

Hi all,

Can anyone using Singtel data roaming in Malaysia advise me?

I have had this SingTel prepaid sim for a while now and I just realised they have this data deal which allows for 250GB data in SG and another 250GB roaming data in MY, for SGD15. I subscribed to it a few days back.

Speeds was initially great, roaming on Maxis 5G, but after a few hours, it would drop to 1Mbps. I get the impression I am being throttled because the speedtest speed and "needle" would start off to a high speed before rapidly falling to 1Mbps. I tried changing the roaming partner to CelcomDiGi, but to no different outcome. My roaming data still has more than 240GB left.

Anyone else experiencing this?
