Guys, Bridgestone just released their newest flagship touring tyres, Turanza 6 two months ago, replacing the previous 005A. Any of you already using this? Any reviews so far?

Currently using Michelin Primacy 4ST and i foresee might need to change it within 1 year. Initially planning to try Hankook VP 4 due to rave reviews from my friends and also in the forum here. But with the release of Turanza 6, might change the plan and get Turanza 6 is its good. Only interested in higher end touring tyres, not performance tyres or mid end touring.

Appreciate any comments/feedback on T6.

Michelin Primacy 4 vs Pilot Sport 4 vs Competitors,

Seeking experiences on tyres which have a combined strengths of quietness and handling although both usually don't really go together. Quietness takes precedence over handling, although I"m not really looking for super F1 race car handling, just decent accurate or good steering feedback would do. The tyres are for a family car Nissan Almera.

I only have experience with the old Michelin Primacy 3ST if I'm not mistaken as it came together with the Ford Focus as standard back in 2013. It's rather quiet and handling was pretty top-notch even though it's not a Pilot Sport version. I was just wondering how would the current Primacy 4 and Pilot Sport 4 compare.

I briefly tried Toyo CR1 and although it's a soft, comfortable and cheap tyre, steering accuracy was slightly poor as it was loose and not as precise. The current car came with Continental UC6 and although handling was decent, my main complaint was it's quite noisy and there is a subtle "wooong wooong" sound when the vehicle is going over old or worn-out road surfaces ie. poor and old condition roads.

Unexpected good exp with TyrePlus Warranty,

Hi All,

Just wanted to share my recent positive experience with TyrePlus Road Hazard Protection.

I finally got my car last month and installed 4x Pilot Sport 4S 21" wheels. Total bill was around 8k with installation included.
The shop offered me to top up for RHP Gold (12 months) instead of the free silver protection (6 months).

Thinking that I most probably will never use it, i decided to stick with the free protection (I'm prepared to replace my tyres every 2 years, the short time frame makes it seems unlikely I will experience bulge/puncture etc., especially since this car will be mostly Highway driving between Penang and Johor).

Anyway, just got a puncture 1 month in on my rear tyre (315/30/R21, so around 2k each) . The puncture was very close to the shoulder (so most likely need to replace...)

Went to a nearby tyreplus in johor and was expecting them to refuse my claim and needed to fork out cash for a new tyre to ensure my safety.

I raised my safety concern to the Tyreplus shopkeeper and he was nice to explain to me that that this puncture can still be patched safely, but he will still check if they can claim a new tyre for me.

After 10 mins, he came back telling me that Tyreplus approved my tyre replacement, though unfortunately these tyres are quite rare and they don't have ex-stock, so have to come back on Tuesday. But hey, at least it saved me 2k!

Audi rims on Mercedes, Will it fit?

Looking to upgrade rims on my old Mercedes W211. The spec of the Mercedes (from wheel-size.com) is as below:

PCD : 5x112
Center Bore : 66.6 mm
Offset : 36 - 40 mm

I like the looks of an Audi rim, much nicer compared to Mercedes. And cheaper too. When I asked Google and ChatGPT, both of them said that Audi rims will not fit because of a smaller center bore. But the wheel has this spec:

PCD : 5x112 (same)
Center Bore : 66.56 mm (only 0.04 mm difference!)
Offset : 39 mm

Surely the 0.04 mm difference will not be a problem right? That's less than a thickness of a hair!

Has anybody successfully installed Audi rims on a Mercedes before without needing to enlarge the bore? Or use adapters?

205/55 R17 to 225/45 R18 What Are The Differences,

For those who have experience changing sizes of rims and tyres, would like to seek your experiences.

What would be the expected differences or changes when going from 205/55 R17 to 225/45 R18? I'm basically interested to know the differences in these 3 aspects.

1. Ride and handling. If there is a difference, what would be the expected change.
2. Acceleration. I would expect a slight impact in acceleration as the 225 wider tyres might cause a slightly reduced acceleration when compared to 205 wide tyres. Say 0-100km/h with 205/55 R17 tyres is 9.5s while the 225/45 R18 might register a slower 10s?
3. Noise. Possibly slightly louder tyre noise will be heard in the cabin due to the wider tyres.

Possibly slightly higher fuel consumption though it could be negligible.

Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

Looking for Axia Style Tyre recommendations,

Hi all. After my latest service, the Perodua mechanic told me that my tyres were expired and will need to be replaced soon. I was wondering what were my options since this is my first car and am fairly new to tyres in general. I've heard some people say that my specific tyre size is very difficult to find manufacturers (175/60/R15) but I've also heard some say that I can look for a slightly wider tyre size (185/55/R15)? I would normally just use back the original tyre that came with the car but I've noticed that the current tyres (Hankook) don't offer much when going over those red/yellow bumpers around corners. Currently, the bumps feel very harsh, even when going around 25km/h.

My questions are, how true are these rumours I've heard that say the 185/55/R15 can fix my Axia Style and what are my options for tyres if I wanted to have a bit more comfort going over those red/yellow bumpers. My budget is around RM250 per tyre but obviously the lower the better. I'd like to prioritise comfort and/or wet grip. Thanks all
