PETALING JAYA: Two teenage girls were killed in a crash involving their motorcycle and a car driven by a 28-year-old man at Jalan Padang Tembak in Teluk Intan, Perak, yesterday.

On Wednesday (22 July), roughly ten attackers opened fire and threw pipe bombs at a security checkpoint in Ra-ngae district, Narathiwat, killing five paramilitary rangers and injuring six civilians, including a 10-year-old boy.

The attackers fled in a black pickup truck, which was found abandoned and burned 21 kilometres away.

The directive was signed on the day of the attack; it took two days to announce publicly, and Bangkok’s response did not stop at martial law.

Thailand announced plans to build a 99-kilometre barbed-wire fence along its border with Malaysia — running from Tak Bai district through Su-ngai Kolok to Waeng district.
