How to buy 3rd Party Only Car Insurance?, Car over 15 years

My old car which my parent is using once in a while just past the 15 years mark and up for renewal, and since I've already transferred my NCD to my new car, I don't think it's worth getting comprehensive insurance for it anymore, where cheapest also cost over RM800. But most of the platform doesn't seems to provide 3rd party coverage renewal online.
What do you guys normally do with cars over 15y? Do you still buy comprehensive insurance? Where can I get the cheapest 3 party insurance for car?

Comparison to vehicles you currently own or have owned or driven would be useful.

Car Inspection for Brand New Cars, Engaging a professional to check new car

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some honest opinions from the car community here.

Normally, when we buy a new house, hiring a defect inspector before getting the keys is a completely standard practice. But when it comes to brand new cars, which also cost a bomb, most of us just do a quick 5-10mins walkaround, get excited, snap a photo with the giant ribbon, and sign the delivery order.

But "brand new" doesn't always mean perfect. Before a car reaches you, it goes through transport, storage yards, washing, and preparation. I've seen cases of hidden scratches, repainted panels from shipping damage, or even holograms on the surface from polishing work. Once you sign and drive the car out, getting the dealer to fix these things becomes a much bigger headache.

I’m currently building a service here in Malaysia called CarCheck. The idea is simple: Check before collection.

We act as an independent third party and go to the showroom to do a detailed check before you sign the handover documents. We aren't anti-dealer, don't get me wrong. We just believe in making the handover transparent.

I want to be completely upfront. I am the founder. I’m not here to drop a hard sales link, but I genuinely want to know from real Malaysian drivers to help me improve this:

Is this a service you would personally use for your next new car?

What is your biggest fear when collecting a new car?

Appreciate any thoughts, criticisms, or suggestions you guys have. Thank you!

Orange Icon suddenly appeared in Atto 2, LKA lights problem

Calling all Sifu to help
The orange icon suddenly appeared 2 weeks ago. I tried checking the "Setting" but couldn't find anything related. Then I brought the car to BYD workshop in Setapak. Unfortunately, what the Service Advisor explained was not very convincing. He said this is normal and now the ATAS features are turned on. If he turns off this orange icon, then the ATAS will be deactivated. He said the icon is normal to be there. But the problem is it was never there since I drove the car in September last year.

Any sifu here can advise me the solution and should I bring the car to another BYD workshop ?
[attachmentid=11527297]

https://www.businesstoday.com.my/2026/04/24...motor-malaysia/

MG Motor Malaysia has officially launched the locally assembled MGS5 EV, signalling a shift to full-scale CKD production in Malaysia following the model’s initial line-off in Melaka earlier in March.

The launch strengthens MG’s localisation strategy and expands its electric vehicle (EV) line-up, with assembly carried out at the PEPS-JV facility in Melaka in partnership with EP Manufacturing Bhd, supporting supply chain development and local automotive participation.

Built on a rear-wheel-drive EV platform, the CKD MGS5 EV delivers 151kW and 350Nm of torque, an upgrade over the imported version, offering sharper acceleration and improved drivability for urban and highway use.

Charging performance is rated at up to 150kW DC fast charging, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in around 26 minutes under optimal conditions, while WLTP range reaches up to 446km depending on variant.

The LUX Long Range variant adds ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, a power-adjustable passenger seat and a hands-free tailgate, positioning the model in the upper tier of affordable EVs in the market.

Safety is backed by seven airbags and ADAS 2.5, including Traffic Jam Assist and Intelligent Cruise Control, with the model holding five-star ratings from both Euro NCAP and ASEAN NCAP.

MG Motor Malaysia Managing Director Emory Qi said the CKD launch reflects the brand’s commitment to localisation, innovation and Malaysia’s role as a regional EV manufacturing hub.

“Production at the Melaka facility is estimated at 120 to 180 units per month, with annual output projected between 1,500 and 2,000 units in 2026,” Qi said.

Bookings for the MGS5 EV are now open, with the LUX Long Range variant priced from RM116,900, positioning it as a competitively priced locally assembled EV in Malaysia’s growing electric vehicle market.

Hire Purchase (Fixed and Variable), Variable = Mortgage Full Flexi?

I have question in regards to the new type of hire purchase “Fixed (Simple Interest)” vs “Variable” rate.

https://www.cimb.com.my/en/personal/help-su.../car-loans.html

For mortgage loan, full flexi allows me to put money in and withdraw out and the interest calculate as per the interest let say 4% per annum day rest.

Anyone knows whether Hire Purchase variable rate also comes with such flexibility?

Let say i take 200k Hire Purchase Variable Rate loan 7 years period, and i park 200k in for 2 years (pay principal no interest), and 3rd year i withdraw 100k (and pay the interest based on remaining owe)… is it possible?
