[WTB] ASUS TUF Gaming F15, Want to buy laptop to replace old laptop

Been using Asus ROG Gl552VW-DH74 since 2017. Used to game on it but now turn into work laptop. It performed very well all these years (until 2025, so around 8 years), just need to change the SSD, HDD, battery and keyboard when they individually expire.

But now it has aged a lot and parts are harder to get. The fan is now not working and causing the CPU to throttle.

Looking for new laptop to replace with similar use case (using for work).

1. Budget around RM3k ~ RM4k
2. Ports: HDMI + at least 3 USB
3. GPU: don't need most recent, RTX3000 series is good enough. Anything above GTX960M is good enough lol
4. MUST have :

a) 2 storage slots
b) 2 RAM slots, upgradeable

5. Use case: Office work (Word, PDF etc.), video editing, media collateral designs.

Seeking seller for ASUS TUF Gaming F15, preferably the FX507 models.

Thank you

All-Metal USB Flash Drive Getting Hot During Use,

I've bought a Sandisk Ultra Luxe USB flash drive about 5 years ago but didn't bother to post my experience after the rather unpleasant experience, but now it's time to buy more flash drives I am now interested to know. What is it that is appealing or an advantage of these all-metal flash drives apart from their sleek elegant metal body and nice finish when compared to the cheaper plastic options? The user experience is not good as I have found as it gets hot to the touch very quickly when in use to the point of burning your fingers when you want to touch it or pull it out from the USB slot. Is there something I"m missing here?

Any IT experts would care to clarify?

Also, just found out that the prices of portable HDD from WD or Seagate 1 TB or 2TB are quite high now compared to several years ago. I bought few 2TBs previously for around RM265 each and now it's all above RM300. I thought prices of these computer accessories should be going down but it looks like it's going up. Inflation is sure real~!

ASUS WARRANTY SCAM, Frustrated with ASUS Malaysia Warranty S

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share my super frustrating experience with ASUS warranty service and see if anyone else has had similar issues.

I bought an ASUS Vivobook S14 Flip less than a year ago, and after only five months, the touchpad coating started peeling off. When I contacted customer service, they told me it wouldn’t be covered under warranty. But when I took it to the service center, they said it might be covered. Talk about confusing!

But that’s not even the worst part. The plastic frame of the laptop just came apart on its own, no mishandling, no dropping, nothing. This caused the left side of the screen to pop out, and because the frame wasn’t holding it in place, the screen cracked.
Now, I’m being told I have to pay RM1.5K for repairs, even though this looks like a design flaw, not something I did. I went to the service center, explained everything, and they just decided that it’s "Customer-Induced-Damage" (CID) without even giving me a solid reason why. Like, how does a plastic frame just come off by itself? And how does a "military-grade" laptop fall apart like this?

Honestly, I’m just really frustrated. I’m being told to pay for something that shouldn't have happened in the first place. It feels like ASUS is just trying to put the blame on me for a defect that clearly isn't my fault.

Has anyone else gone through this with ASUS Malaysia? How did you handle it?

Also, I found some other posts online where people are having similar issues with the VivoBook series,so I’m definitely not the only one dealing with this. (cant post the links because im under probation)
