I couldnt find a thread on this so i thought to start one.

Some of the main features.

1. Fully on-line application using EPF i-Akaun
2. Deduct from EPF account 2
3. Eligible for income tax relief
4. Currently only 2 products on offer, term life insurance and critical illness insurance.
5. Only cover for a year and have to re-apply every year (not so good)

I was looking at the insurance plans on offer, and I found that the premiums are quite attractive (low), compared to what agent offer me. Coverage up to 100k.

Im looking to take it next month Dec to maximize my life insurance tax relief.

Thoughts of the members of this forum?

Gold ETF by Affin Hwang Asset Management was listed today.

This is positive development for stock punters. We now can buy Gold like we buy shares, in our CDS account.

Price closed at RM1.74 with 8,271 lots being traded. 1 lot (100 shares) equal to 1 gm of Gold.

Can discuss when good time to buy Gold?

KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB Bank Bhd has issued four warrants --three call and one put European-style cash-settled call warrant -- over the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (FBM KLCI).

CIMB Bank said the warrants, coded as FBMKLCI-CG, FBMKLCI-CH, FBMKLCI-CI and FBMKLCI-HB, offer investors similar flexibility to that provided by warrants over individual stocks, while allowing investors to take a view on the broader market through a share market index.

It said each of these new warrants will have an exercise ratio of 667 to 1, and an issue price of RM0.150, and will expire on July 31 next year.

"The exercise levels of FBMKLCI-CG, FBMKLCI-CH, FBMKLCI-CI and FBMKLCI-HB are 1880, 1900, 1850, and 1880 respectively," it said in a statement today.

CIMB said trading in index warrants provides a diversification benefit as an index is composed of a basket of shares, making it highly diversified.

"Diversification has been proven to lower overall risk because the influence of any one component of an index has a smaller effect on overall performance," it said.

The bank said investors can be assured of continuous liquidity when trading index warrants as market makers are committed to providing quotes throughout the day for the life of the warrant.

It added that index warrants also enable investors to increase their gearing, profiting from small moves in the market.-- Bernama
