When lockup occurs, nothing can be done other than resetting the pc. Keyboard and mouse doesnt work. <br />Everytime the lockup occurs, harddisk light stays permanently on till i reset the pc. Most of the time, lockup occurs when i try to empty recycle bin when theres other heavy cpu utilizing applications running. Sometimes lockup occurs randomly when im watching movies and doing normal stuff.<br /><br />Reformatted harddisk twice. Changed to new harddisk. Problem still occured.<br /><br />Ran microsoft memory diagnostic for 6 hours. No problems found.<br /><br /><br />My pc temp is quite high which may be causing the problem but what puzzles me is that why the harddisk light stays perm on when the pc freezes. <br />System temp = 45 Cpu temp = 65 when running cpu heavy applications.<br /><br />So im thinking it might be the heat issue but what makes the harddisk light stay on when the pc freezes and why emptying harddisk makes the pc freeze. oiB Technical Support Fri, 07 Jul 2006 07:29:46 +0800 http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/284957 I noticed that my mirc download speed shoots up to like 80 + for like 10 to 20 seconds than drops to less than 10kbps and goes at that speed. I tried changing mirc clients and im not behind a router. I dont have a firewall running as well. If i want to download anything from irc. I have to keep connecting and disconnecting from one xdcc server a hundred times to get the file faster. Reconnect everytime the speed goes below 10. <br /><br />I hope u guys can help me out here. Everything else seems fine including bt and http downloads.<br /><br />This happens on every xdcc server.
