[UPDATE (17 May)] I just saw this video and i was blown away. Cant believe i've never seen this video myself. Me! This video just sums up the whole sh experience. (This is the Nov `09 build of the game btw. You won't get that Assault Rifle no more. See what you ppl have missed?)

Has anyone heard about this game?

I'm trying to start a local community here and possibly rent a server just for us. [UPDATE (16 May)] My private server went live last night. hcaz : defeat and man3k were there for the premier. Performance is pretty solid with pings as low as 60. I've got another two local players waiting to join us. Who else wanna pledge their allegiance?

But i need more ppl though.

Min. Requirement is Vista/7 & DX10 graphics card because this is a DX10 only game.

This is not CoD in space even though the latest patch has introduced a tonne of guns and grenades.

This is the only game that i know of that currently utilizes full 3-D movement,

That means 6 DoF (degrees of freedom). You not only have to check your back, but also your top and bottom.

It's beautiful to look at, and intense as hell during the fights.

Has 3 modes currently: Skirmish (Deathmatch), Assault and Battle.

Can someone comment already because the last time i posted bout SH, there were like 100+ views but zero comments.

Is everyone running XP with their rm2000 DX10 card here?

Play Shattered Horizon this weekend for free!

I've setup a local server for us. Just add me on Steam (vasanx) if you can't find the following server: [vasanx] Moonrise Only. Mixed Modes.

The game's requirement:

1. Win Vista/ Win 7

2. DirectX 10 graphic card

The game's only rm34 if you buy it by Monday. Its retail price is rm68.

And it's only 1+ GB download so, it shud take bout an hour plus to download on a 1 MB connection.

Lets see if we can start a local community here since I haven't seen a Malaysian player yet.

DVD upscaling using VGA cable anyone?

Hi,

In relation to my earlier post about accessories and region protection, this is what i was actually thinking about.

Is it worth getting the VGA cable to upscale dvds on my 720p plasma display?

How good is the upscaling compared to standalone HDMI-upscaling dvd player like Oppo which everyone seems to swear by these days?

here are the pros and cons i can think of so far.

Pros

1. If it does work as advertised, dvds would look super awesome on my display. I have a old JVC dvd player which i got for free and The Island looked Ok on my display, i guess, but nowhere near compared to xvid files at 650 x 325 when played on the 360. So, i'm assuming the dvds would look just as nice if not better at 720 x 480.

2. Finally be able to taste DD 5.1 and more importantly DTS in all its glory.

Cons

1. What am i gonna do with the component cable that came wit my premium? they're working just fine and since my display is only 720p/1080i i couldn't care less about 1080p which the VGA cable offers.

2. Using VGA cable also means that i will be losing 6 column of pixels from my display, 3 on the left and 3 on the right, seeing as how my plasma has a native resolution of 1366 x 768 and for some dumb reason, VGA only allows a PC resolution of 1360 x 768.

3. My 720p video files will be upscaled from 1280 x 720 to 1360 x 768 instead of playing as is at 720p over my component cable. Though, it is safe to say that any quality degradation would be hardly noticeable but i just find the idea of doing 720p at 768p annoying. IF ONLY VGA cables can display 720p and 1080i resolution, i'd be able to switch resolution as i please according to the source i.e. 720p for 720p video files, 1080i for 1080p video files and games like AitD and COD4.

i realize that i myself find that the VGA cable has more cons than pros but my main objective here is DVD upscaling.

If the dvds indeed look awesome after being upscaled from 480p to 720p, then i'm SOLD.

All i need is, confirmation from fellow 360 owners who use their 360 as an upscaling dvd player with their plasma or lcd HDTV through the VGA cable.

Please shed some light.

Region Protection on the 360's accessories?

Hi,

I'm looking to buy the VGA cable ever since i learned about the DVD Upconversion/upscaling capability that the 360 has.

But here's my dilemma.

On Play-Asia, there are two versions of the cable, Japan and Asian version.

Surely, this is a mistake? I thought the Region Protection was only for the Console, the Games, LIVE subscription and the Microsoft Points?

Looking through all the other accessories revealed the same pattern. The controllers, battery packs, wireless gaming receiver, hard drive, network adapter...

And the weird thing bout this is when i check the accessories listed on Renchi, there is no mention of Region Protection.

Although this warning, Check compatibility of games and consoles to your home country before purchasing pops up when you are bout to checkout your purchase.

Please shed some light on this matter. I dont feel like pissing my money away.

Does anyone even care bout the Elite?

I know this question was asked already in my previous thread but i just had to ask again (it's that worrying!)

Does anyone even care bout the Elite? Or is everyone way too content with the Premiums a.k.a. Pros here.

I mean it's obviously not wise for current 360 owners to jump to the Elite since you can always buy the 120gb hdrive as a standalone but what about people who are yet to buy the 360?

Or am i like the last person on Malaysia who still doesn't have a console?

HDMI port anyone? A single cable to the tv that carries both video and audio AND conveniently placed at the side of the tv? With plasmas and lcds going cheap these days why wouldnt anyone get a HDTV+Elite combo?

or should i just shut the f*** up and get the Premium/Pro because every day i wait to play GOW i'm actually wasting my life away?

I really want to get a 360 now. I see that the Elite US version is up on gamershideout site but when is the Asian version coming? And what is the projected price?

I dont feel like getting a step down transformer.

BUt all this waiting around might just make me get the US version after all. i so want to play GOW.

And can someone tell me why the heck no one seems to talk bout the Elite here or anywhere else for that matter?
