[WTB] ASUS TUF Gaming F15

Been using Asus ROG Gl552VW-DH74 since 2017. Used to game on it but now turn into work laptop. It performed very well all these years (until 2025, so around 8 years), just need to change the SSD, HDD, battery and keyboard when they individually expire.

But now it has aged a lot and parts are harder to get. The fan is now not working and causing the CPU to throttle.

Looking for new laptop to replace with similar use case (using for work).

1. Budget around RM3k ~ RM4k
2. Ports: HDMI + at least 3 USB
3. GPU: don't need most recent, RTX3000 series is good enough. Anything above GTX960M is good enough lol
4. MUST have :

a) 2 storage slots
b) 2 RAM slots, upgradeable

5. Use case: Office work (Word, PDF etc.), video editing, media collateral designs.

Seeking seller for ASUS TUF Gaming F15, preferably the FX507 models.

Thank you

Recommendation for New TV Display / Monitor

Hi i am currently looking to upgrade my current PC display setup.

Current setup:
Model: Panasonic Viera TH-L32X50K
Size: 32-inch
Resolution: 1080p

Other spec not sure since even uncle Gugel didn't give a lot of clear results for this model. Too old I guess

Use case:
1. Gaming - open-world types (Red Dead Redemption, No Mans Sky) and FPS (Battlebit, Apex Legends)
2. Media consumption - movies, internet browsing, Youtube

Order of priority for considerations:
1. Visuals - for movies and cinematic views. If possible would like to graduate from 1080p. 2K is a good minimum for me.
2. Performance - since I play FPS as well, would like to have good refresh rate as well.
3. If it helps, I am also using MSI RTX3060Ti Ventus 2X OC - so would like to harness its capabilities as well.
4. Budget: Aiming for mid range models, so I can consider up to RM3k.

For the new display / monitor, my requirements are as follows:
1. Size: 32-inch preferred.
2. Have build-in sound speaker (to watch movies not preferred wear headphones)
3. Form factor: Flat screen, not curved.
4. Panel type: IPS display or OLED if possible (best for viewing)
5. Refresh rate: 144Hz is ok (current display is 60Hz I think, so would like a smoother experience)
6. Prefer TV type if possible (with remote as it will dual function as TV as well) - but can consider to monitors (no remote) if not possible.

A cursory Google search yields so many choice. Would like the Sifus to help recommend which monitors / displays are best suited for this use case.

Thanks

Edit: to correct "LED" to "OLED" on panel type

[WTA] Best Direct Attacheed Storage (DAS)

Hi to all Sifus and experts.

I'm new to the world of NAS and big storage setup in general My current experience can be summarized thusly:

Storage Proficiency level: Beginner to intermediate

Have been using external HDDs for some years (WD Essential / Seagate etc) Just recently bought Synology DS220J and have tinkered with it for a bit.

ISSUE:

As mentioned above, I already have a NAS. Synology DS220J, 2 bay, total of 8 TB storage.

The NAS is good for its accessibility / network function but it's a pain when I backup terabytes of data.

1. Transfer speed over network is quite slow, 35 MB/sec. Plus, i will burden the home network.

2. Synology NAS cannot use USB 3.0 for direct connection to PC (for some reason) nut it can access external HDD that connects to it via USB.

3. Workaround to direct connect NAS is a hassle - need to use ethernet cable and configure manual IP. PC also only have 1 LAN port, so if connect, cannot use internet.

REQUEST

I want to supplement my current setup with a DAS. My plan is to have an "upgradeable" external HDD essentially.

1. Enclosure have to be RAID capable - want to have multiple HDD bays but want to map to only 1 drive in PC

2. Budget - around RM1k ~ 2k for enclosure only. Can recommend HDD to use.

3. Want to be able to direct connect to PC for fast transfer - USB 3.0

I have Googled for a DAS but most result show for NAS.

Found one from Orico:

Orico NS500RU3 (5 Bay) 3.5-in hard disk box desktop (With Raid) sata USB3.0 serial box

Orico HDD Enclosure

But dunno good or not. Also dunno if got any other brand.

So, need help in recommendation for a good DAS.

Thanks
