Early Release Calculation Question

Hey guys,

So I asked my company for an early release and they agreed. Note that I have 2 months notice to serve. In my employee handbook and offer letter, it states 2 months only. Doesn't state 2 calendar months. Not sure if there's any difference there.

I resigned on the 30th of October and after deducting my leave, my last day will be the 20th of November. However, the buyout calculation starts on the 21st of November which is a Saturday.

I find this weird as I'm paid for a 5-day, 40-hour work week. Why do they use weekends as part of the calculation? I asked my HR and they said it's according to Labour Law.

I had a look through the employment act and it doesn't mention anything like that (maybe I missed it).

If the calculations took into account the workdays only, my buyout will be significantly less. It matters to me because my buyout is part of my sign on bonus.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

F30 demister light blinking, no air con from top v

out of the blue, the demister light in my car is blinking non stop and there's no air coming out of the main vents. there's air coming out of the foot vents tho. car status shows no issues. any idea what's wrong?

Sudden flicker on screen

guys, i have a gtx 780 (which is the most recently bought part of my pc) and noticed that suddenly my screen flickers for a split second. its quite noticeable but it lasts for a very short time. also, it occurs pretty much randomly. any ideas on what to do?

Carrier brand. The fella say BTU very high but when i check back, its not very high la. its ok.

I was lining up at LCCT at 5.30am to check in my bag for a 7am flight to Jakarta for work. And the line was so long, I missed my flight. There were so many people checking in boxes and stuff. And the counter lady was so slow. Now i got to pay extra 150 for the next flight. Well, not actually the next flight but the 1pm flight.

I am trying to claim Critical Insurance benefit for my fiancee who was recently diagnosed with cancer. To be specific, NPC. I submitted all forms to Etiqa (personally) at their HQ on the 28th of September. Since then I have been in contact with an Etiqa customer relations guy. Here's a quick breakdown of what happened:

28 Sept: Submitted all forms/letters from onco/lab reports

2 weeks after 28 Sept: Called Etiqa and spoke to a rep (Mr R). He told me that it takes 3 to 4 weeks to get approval and a week or so to get the check.

4 weeks after 28 Sept: Called Etiqa to double check the status of the CI claim. Spoke to another guy (can't remember name because Mr R was on the phone) and he told me it was approved. Should be getting the check on the 5th Nov (or that same week).

5 Nov: Called Etiqa. Spoke to Mr R. He told me that its still pending because the form i filled on the 28 Sept was the wrong CI claim form. sent me a new form to fill. I scolded him for waiting 6 weeks and only notifying me of it after 6 weeks.

6 Nov: Submitted new form. asked him to expedite immediately. Its been nearly 2 weeks now and no news.

In total, he's made me wait 8 weeks with no approval or resolution to my problem.
I'm feeling utterly cheated by this insurance company and I don't know what to do. i've wrote in to the malay mail and now I feel like threatening to sue them for punitive damages.

We have spent a large portion of our savings on chemotherapy treatment and we need the CI claim asap.

What can I do about this?

core 3: 87 degrees

i'm using a thermaltake bigwater a80 with 2 gentle typhoon fans.

CPU Coolers for MSI Z77A-GD65

I'm currently using an MSI Z77A-GD65 mobo + Kingston HyperX Genesis ram modules. Anyone using a similar setup? I would like to know what CPU air coolers can fit into this setup.

I've shortlisted some coolers:

1) Zalman CNPS10X Extreme
2) SPIRE TherMax Eclipse II
3) Thermaltake Frio

Don't want to end up buying one and cannot fit.

New Rig

I am planning on upgrading my current rig. It'll be a total upgrade because I'm giving the old one to a relative.

This rig will be mainly used for gaming and other simple tasks.

For now, I have some items that are fixed:

GPU: Asus GTX 670 DC2 TOP
Case: Thermaltake Armor A30
Ram: Kingston VRAM 8GB

The other items are still under consideration:

CPU: Intel i5-3570K
MOBO: Asus P8Z77-M
PSU: Corsair TX650M

I am not planning to SLI at all. I don't think another card can fit into my case. Also, I am not planning on OC-ing yet but would like to have the option to.

I need some suggestions on CPU, MOBO and PSU.
What do you guys think?

Thinking of changing career

Guys,
I've been working as an engineer for 3 years. But after these 3 years, I feel that I'm not happy with my job. The daily tasks are so mundane and I have difficulty appreciating what I do. I also feel that nobody appreciates what I do because of the simplicity and repetitiveness of my tasks. I've worked in 2 companies so far and in both cases, I end up feeling this way. At the rate I'm going, I'll end up resenting my job again.

So, I would like to know if anyone here has experienced this and successfully changed his/her career?
