Calibrating Panasonic ST30

Hi,

Anyone owns a Panasonic ST30 Plasma? I saw people calibrating the TV by adjusting settings like gamma, black level, color temp etc under "custom" viewing mode but I cant find any "custom" mode in the picture settings. All I got are the presets like Dyamic, Game, Normal, Cinema and True Cinema. Anyone know how to unlock the "custom" mode, if ST30 has one?

Thanks!

SE530 to SE530X6 upgrade (by Unique Melody)

Every SE530 users would hope they have a little more extension and defined on the highs, myself is no exception. After some research I have purchased UM Mage after some users compliment them for the great mids and highs. However, I have mixed feelings about the Mage. While the highs are great, detailed and extended, sound stage is huge too, but I find the mid range is too far for my taste, I enjoyed vocals on SE530 more. Mage's bass also a little too big for me and not as quick as SE530, paired with slightly recessed and distant mids, I can't say I enjoy them very much. I actually put them a side and listen to SE530 again, well until I decided to send my SE530 to UM for upgrades.

It's an upgrade turning SE530 to 6 drivers IEMs, dual lows, dual mids (the 2 stock SE530 mids/lows drivers) and dual highs, 3 ways cross over. After contacted UM dealer from the states, I sent my SE530 together with ear impressions to UM Lab. The entire process took around 3 weeks (compared to my Mage which took 3 months), I'm glad I didn't go through any local dealer to handle the shipments. They costed me USD469, with return shipping included. When I received the IEMs, I was floored by the workmanship.

The fit is awesome, I was very worried as I refited my Mage twice. The Sound? OMG, I'm floored the second time. At first I was very worried the outcome will be similar to the Mage's sound, I wrote a note to UM Lab explaining my preference of sounds, told them not to let bass interfering the mids and bring the mids forward, and try to maintain SE530's warm sound sig. They made it exactly like what I expected.

Highs - Full of energy, refined, extended and super snappy. The magical part is its not fatiguing. Guitar plucks with super clean and crisp sound; triangles' attacks are full of energy; brush beats are so refined and clean when listening to jazz tracks. If Mages are touting their highs, these SE530X6 blows them away.

Mids - The way I wanted Mage to be, finally! Forward, slightly warm, and fast. It's the good old SE530's taste, that I loved very much, guess I dont have to explain much since alot know how great SE530's mids are.

Bass - I'm not a bass head like I used to be, I want bass to be super fast, and I hate mid-bass hump, so I find stock SE530 bass is sufficient, and they were very fast so I loved them. The SE530X6, changed the bass' sound quite a bit. It's now simmilar to the Mage, only they are a tad lighter and even snappier. Exactly what I wanted them to be. That doesn't mean they are bass-less, some tracks the bass sink so low and I don't remember I heard those bass with my stock SE530. Anymore bass than these will make me sick again.

Soundstage - Huge, just like the Mage. Instrument seperations are even clearer than the Mage, and I thought Mage are really great in this area already!

Overall, Im very happy with these IEMs, it makes me a little regret spending on the Mage on the first time, oh well, but atleast I could use Mage as comparison when explaining my sound preference to UM Lab, hence to great result of SE530X6. I think I won't be getting anymore IEMs till these guys break, tho wife laughed sarcastically when I told her this.

Sorry for the grainy background on the pics, I placed them in front of my PC monitor as back light, hence the monitor pixels shown in the pics. lol...
